Homeopathy is a form of complementary medicine, which has been found effective in treating almost all common types of diseases. The homeopathic system of medicine has been practised successfully around the world since 1790. Homeopathic medicine uses natural remedies that correct imbalances within our systems and stimulate the body to heal itself.
Homeopathy is based on the law “Similia Similibus Curnetur,” which means “let likes be cured by likes.” To explain this a little further, every substances which is capable of producing a set of symptoms in healthy person, is also capable of curing similar symptoms in a sick person! For example, what happens when you cut an onion? Your eyes and nose water, you may even sneeze! When someone comes into our office and is complaining of similar symptoms, I may prescribe Allium Cepa (red onion), and this remedy would alleviate their water eyes, nose and sneezing.
Homeopathic medicine treats a person holistically; this encompasses their mental, emotional and physical complaints. A homeopath will assess your health in terms of a wide range of factors such as life-style habits, stresses, and dietary preferences. All these considerations assist the homeopath in identifying an individual remedy to help restore your health.
In homeopathy, symptoms are an indication that the body is attempting to heal itself. We must learn to acknowledge our symptoms and listen to what are bodies are telling us, so we do not suppress our own healing process. With repeated suppression, our bodies become less resilient, and our immune systems become weakened and our overall health deteriorates.
Through my practice, I empower famiilies to become their own health advocate. Life demands that we manage careers, marriage and famlies. We often lose sight of what is immediately important to us. When time is not devoted to listening to the body and understanding the signs, illness is inevitable.
